Services
The Mendota Group brings to its projects broad perspective and deep insights, whether the audience is executives, managers, practitioners, or customers.
We provide expert support to utility, government, tribal, and non-profit clients to design, implement, and evaluate projects and programs that improve customer energy efficiency and accelerate the shift toward cleaner energy sources.
Support takes many forms:
- serving as temporary utility Distributed Energy Resource program staff (staff augmentation)
- leading stakeholder groups tasked with developing regulations to implement new clean energy laws
- modernizing the method by which utilities evaluate the cost effectiveness of distributed energy resources
- developing an online tool that enables customers and trade allies (aggregators) to participate in a utility program initiated by a governor’s emergency declaration to reduce energy use and keep the lights on (and running the program on behalf of the utility)
- leading a utility’s effort to create an 8-year forward-looking energy efficiency “business plan” that describes how the utility plans to advance energy efficiency for all customer sectors (and produce a highly stylized version of the report for regulators)
- assisting a tribal government in analyzing and ranking opportunities to create a Net Zero carbon community and implementing the projects that resulted from the analysis and recommendations
- project managing and serving as lead author for a utility’s “rulebook” that catalogs all relevant state regulations and utility internal policies related to implementing energy efficiency programs
